It seems to me that Agent Cyrus is the Fox Moulder of Podcast Novel heros’. She gets her ass kicked all over the place.

I’m really enjoying the story. PC shows great promise as a writer. I really like the fact that Cyrus is also the Energizer Bunny. She never stops.

Sorry it’s taken me so long to listen to the feedback episode, replay the ending of Cybrosis, then get here to leave this comment…. but this is Lisa, who left a voicemail concerning a couple things I wasn’t crazy about. First off, yes, my opinions on the voicework are definitely personel preferences only, but I should clarify what I didn’t love: the monotone reading for Chen just didn’t do it for me (I know that’s how P.C. wanted it read, I just never like monotone speech, so it’s kind of grating on me). So it definitely wasn’t Christiana, just the read she was asked to do. And I just thought Heather’s reading for Ciris was at times wooden. Again, I think that’s how the character was meant to be, but I wouldn’t have chosen it for the character. But Heather did inject plenty of good emotion in Ciris, and I think Christiana got some in there too.
I liked what Steve had to say about Ciris getting out of the tunnel, and I replayed the ending of episode 20. And I didn’t have the same reaction. No eye-rolling, haha. I see the points you guys made, and after another listen, it definitely sat better for me. I agree. I guess I just didn’t get it at first. Full disclosure though, part of what I think ‘bothered’ me about it was the whole Ciris having a child thing… as a childless woman, I instantly felt jealous that she, as a single woman could have a child and I don’t have one! But that’s my personal bitterness, and I’ll get over it. I also could’ve been having a bad day when I was listening to the ending.
One more bit, I found it fascinating, your talk in the feedback episode about the stages of grief and how Ciris did and did not move through them.
Great feedback epsiode, great podcast/story, and I can’t wait to hear more from all of you! Thanks for your time,

I saw your novel and was going to give a listen, but find that the iTunes feed does not include episode #1. Is there a reason for this, or is it simply an omission? Perhaps the episode is not really part of the whole (2-20 being the actual novel)?

It would be tedious to have to download each episode separately, and I hope you can direct me to the best way to handle this.

Well done! I really enjoyed the conclusion – Heather was stupendous, very emotionally compelling.

Thank you so much for all of the effort throughout, and the engaging story. I also appreciate that you focused on plot & character, and did not stoop to podio-porn, which seems all too common with the sci-fi podcasts making the rounds these days. You trusted your own skill in storytelling and cyber-creativity.

My donation is forthcoming, and I hope everyone else supports this podcast financially, too, as it is obvious just how much time, effort, and resources have gone into it.

My one big problem: so, when is volume 2 going to begin!

I just listened to your feedback episode. I wanted to say that I am fascinated by the information you gave on how voice actors do or don’t have the leeway to change phrasing and contractions. It’s an aspect of podcast novels I had never considered before. Neat! Thank you for the information! Keep up the excellent work! (Just about to listen to Episode 17, and hey look! Hey, which episode/time index is this “Moonlight Sonata” sequence at? I want to re-listen to it, but not knowing the piece, I don’t know where to look for it.

BTW, I ended up seeing (most of) the Hitman movie a few weeks ago. It wasn’t that good (same basic plot as The Bourne Identity, not executed as well).

Ok, you said not to harangue you about the cliffhanger. I thought it was great. Really. When I heard the “end of episode” music, I like to have died. Congrats to you for such a great story that it made my heart sink.

A comment on the feedback episode: I assumed that Dani Cutler was “doing” a computer voice but I can not remember any other clues as to her cyber-ness. If the eventual intent is to release this tale in text form, were there tell-tales or does it simply not matter yet?

Also, I really like the touch of having GrailWolf and Heather Welliver as man and wife. It is cute and makes me smile.

I can really start to ‘hear’ both the “Cyber” & the “Punk”. This is starting to get good. I really like the director character, I had found my self hoping for more of an angry police Sergent (like Beverly Hills Cop) but then was glad went you went the way you went. Nice.

Heard about this today when I listened to last week’s Escape Pod. Fantastic first episode; I look forward to listening to this story unfold.

The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the soundtrack. But otherwise is was a really great thrill-ride of a way to begin a story!
